Zellers already is Target

Exactly one year ago my Wife and I drove to Buffalo and Rochester to feed my Wife's Star Wars addiction. One of the main stores we checked out was Target. I was stunned when I entered the stores as they were identical to the Zellers stores since they were renovated a couple of years ago. So much so that when I got home I checked to see if Target had actually invested in HBC. Not yet...

As far as I'm concerned it won't make much difference. Besides better competition to Walmart up here is only a good thing for us consumers and I much prefer the layout of Zellers/Target stores to Walmart anyway.

An intersting aside was that this trip to Rochester happened to coincide with the Blackout. Not knowing what was going on, it became imperative to my Wife and I that we got back to Canada. I had very little gas, but luckily parts of Niagara still had power. I guess it will be forever one of those "where were you when" moments (at least for people in Ontario, Ohio, New York, etc)
