The three opposition parties have very little to lose and much to gain through such a partnership. By keeping the sponsorship scandal front and centre they continue to chip away at the Liberals credibility. Maybe they can reduce our EI contributions (tax) and that would be nice. On missle-defense and troop deployment it could get very fun.
The Bloq and NDP will press the Liberals to opt of the missle-defense program. This will give MP Parrish much joy, but it will box PM Martin into a corner. PM Martin will either join the agreement (as he wants to) and blur the lines of distinction between the Liberals and Conservatives or punt the issue until after the next election. In fact, this coalition could bog things down so much that they will have no choice but to call an election.
At least there might be some red meat for us bloggers...
