A good year for Goodyear

Cambridge MP Gary Goodyear (shameless plug for my riding) has been appointed the Chair of the Ontario Caucus for the Conservative Party. Check out the link, it may be the first time our local rag, the Cambridge Times has been linked by a blog.

Cambridge seems to be the bastion of conservatism in Ontario as provincially we have Progressive Conservative MPP Gerry Martiniuk as well. I guess it all of the Newfoundlanders and Portuguese people in Cambridge. Good salt of the earth people.

I think this is good strategy by Opposition Leader Harper. In the tri-city area (Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge) there are two seats the can eventually be won over from the liberals. MP Lynn Myers' seat in Waterloo-Wellington and MP Andrew Telegdi's seat in Kitchener-Waterloo. Regular readers of Warren Kinsella will know how much he thinks of Telegdi. Check out the link he provided from the University of Waterloo student newspaper circa 1974. If MP Goodyear can do a good job has Ontario Caucus Chair and keep a high profile it will definately help the Conservative cause in this area.
