Sure Vice President Cheney was grumpy, but at least he was competent. In one question the candidates were asked explicity not to mention the number ones on their tickets. Senator Edwards could not go 90 seconds without mentioning Senator Kerry twice.
I knew Senator Edwards had completely lost the debate when he was asked what qualified him to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency. This is THE question about the Senator everyone knew would be asked the day he was nominated by Senator Kerry. He has had at least 3 months to get very skilled speachwriters to write a suitable response for him and he blew it. There was nothing credible in his response.
