It is amazing being almost hot and almost a good singer can take you. C'mon she is not even the greatest Canadian female country singer, who is, of course, Ann Murray (94th!!!)
Even the top 20 of Women is pretty week. I can't argue with Roberta Bondar (how does she not make the top 50?) or Agnes MacPhail. How about Louise McKinney and Roberta MacAdams, the first Women MLA's.
Kim Campbell was Prime Minister, that should count for something. Also Sylvia Ostry, Sheila Copps and Ann McLellan were or are Deputy Prime Ministers, that's pretty great. Alexa McDonagh was the leader of a national party. Barbara hall was mayor of Toronto. Hey, I am just pulling political names off the top of my head (and google) here. It is not that hard.
What about Silken Laumann or Catriona Le May Doan? Nancy Greene?
I will take suggestions! There must be a better list than the lousy one the CBC came up with
What about Mary Pickford, who took Hollywood by storm and help found United Artists.
