Lowest of the Low Live

I am a little late on this, but I saw the Lowest
of the Low
at The Starlight in Waterloo on Thursday. This is the second time I have seen them live. The first was back in 94 or 95 at Fed Hall at U of Waterloo. Both were similar in that there was a sense of tension. I can't put my finger on it but he seems that were not really that interested in being there. My friend noticed it as well. Their new stuff was more similar to Hallucigenia than Shakespeare, My Butt!, but that was on first listen. My friend bought the new album so I will borrow it and give a better review later.

The opening act was The Marble Index, whose website is actually a blog, so that's cool. I purchased their album after the show. I have listened to it a few times now and its good. The first song on the album is "I Believe" and it rocks. The next song, "Not So Bright", is more pop than rock, in the Canadian Power Pop style that I love so...

I got to the show a little late, but the singer had a shtick where at the end of the song he would declare "that is 5 awesome songs in a row" or 6 or 7 depending on where they were in the set. There are 12 songs on the album - awesome may be over selling it, but it is solid.

Update: You can listen to 6 of the tracks on The Marble Index Discography Page, if you have RealPlayer (they are some of the better tracks too)
