A Nation Divided

CBC broadcast the National from the USA this week under the tag line US Election, A Nation Divided. This division is highlighted constantly. While I agree with the fact, it is pretty rich for Canadians to point this out. It seems to me this "division" fits perfectly with the Democrats talking point; President Bush said he would be a uniter not a divider and he has run the most divisive adminstration in history, blah, blah, blah.

Leaving the root causes of this "division" aside, you don't see the CBC leading with "Canadian Parliament: A Nation Divided". We have a minority government. We have a federal party, representing the province of Quebec, whose goal is seperation. We have another province (Alberta) that feels ever more alienated. We have Premiers facing off against the Prime Minister for political gain and vice versa. We are becoming an ever increasingly Balkanized State but we thumb our noses at the US. How about some balance.
