So I phoned Star Choice this afternoon to see when they are adding Fox News. The customer service guy had no clue that it was even approved. He put me me hold for a moment to consult a manager. Apparently their marketing deparment has been trying for a while to get Fox News added but he had no idea how long it will take from here.
I would think that if their marketing team was that interested in the channel they would have a plan for immediate role out but I am not familiar with how long it takes to get such a thing launched.
Update: Rogers and Bell have not committed to a timeline for introduction either according to todays National Post
The president of the Canadian Cable Telecommunications Association, which applied to bring Fox News here, said he hoped cable companies would bring it to Canadian screens soon. Rogers Cable and Bell ExpressVu representatives couldn’t provide timelines, but the Fox News vice-president of international distribution claimed interest has been intense. “I’ve spoken to many people with the cable companies and at least one satellite company, and they all asked me to call as soon as we got the word,” Doug Murphy said. “We’re eager to discuss the possibility of distribution.
