I can't see that former-PM Chretien would have done this

In my last post I mentioned that I liked PM Martin, here is further evidence of why:

Canada put the United Nations on notice yesterday it intends to shift in favour of Israel when the General Assembly votes on two upcoming resolutions affecting Israeli-Palestinian relations. Canada’s UN Ambassador Allan
Rock said Ottawa has “longstanding concerns” over these an many other resolutions that Arab and Muslim countries present every year, and are largely critical of Israel. “The resolutions are often divisive, and lack balance, no matter how artfully they are crafted,” Mr. Rock told the assembly, where the UN’s 191 member states sit. He warned they “do not contribute to strengthening dialogue or enhancing trust” between Israel and the Palestinians.

I see PM Martin carving out a noble position with regards to the UN. He has been critical of the organization and has presented a council of the 20 largest countries as a more legitimate alternative. Since the UN has proven itself to be corrupt and is far to often the loudest voice of anti-semitism in world affairs it is about time we began to distance ourselves.
