Back from the belly of the beast

Just got back from Boston and the centre of the Democratic universe. Of course I exaggerate in the title...Boston is a really cool city. I got to walk around the campus of Harvard, which I enjoyed. Also the seafood is excellent.

However, they have not learned. I was participating in training on high-tech products and the trainers and participants were all highly educated. Which of course led to the assumption that we were are liberals/democrats (and I know they are not the same thing). Considering I have to get along at work I did not have the heart to tell them that I am conservative and I have two post-secondary degrees.

This is my favourite thing about the left...they just assume they are smarter because they are on the left. Don't get me wrong, I have met very many people on the left who are smart and informed. Discussions with them are amazing because the level of discourse is very high and I invariably learn something (if only to sharpen my own points of view). What drives me crazy is when you discuss issues with the "educated" and they have no clue what they are talking about. You bring up alternate points to refute their arguments of facts to prove their wrong and they just glaze over. "Well if you want to talk about facts...but there is more to life than that." Indeed, we wouldn't want to let the facts get in the way of a good argument.

Anyway, with that rant out of the way, I am back...
