Paul Wells on PM Martin

Is there is a subject in which Paul Wells shines more? I think not. He was on fire on this post.

So much for correcting the "democratic deficit" as PM Martin flexes his Prime Ministerial muscule and unilaterally appoints Frank McKenna as our ambassador to the USA. But of course PM promised to keep his word...

"I have built my career in public life on doing what I said I would do."
— Paul Martin, Windsor, Ont., June 3 2004

"One of the hallmarks of my political career was that when we said we'd do something, we did it."
— Paul Martin, Windsor, Ont., a few minutes later

"Fundamentally, you know, I have always done what I said we would do."
— Paul Martin, Windsor, a few minutes after that

"Every time I have said I would do something, we have done it."
— Martin, again, same day

Looking back, how did we all fail for the Paul Martin White Knight act (myself included)?
