That didn't take very long did it? A lesbian couple in BC are suing the Knights of Columbus for cancelling their booking of the KoC Hall after the Knights discovered they were homosexual. (courtesy CBC, via NealeNews)
...The couple's lawyer, Barbara Findlay, said they didn't realize a Catholic group operated the hall when they rented it.
I guess they got the Knights of Columbus confused with the Priori of Sion or something. To be fair it could be an honest mistake and they thought the KoC where like the Rotary Club but to me it smells of professional trouble making.
...The head of the Knights of Columbus in Port Coquitlam, Elemer Lazar, declined a CBC News request for an interview. But he has said in the past that he doesn't understand why a same-sex couple would want to book a Catholic facility.
Because they out to take away your religious rights, sir.
We will see how the courts deal with this one and if the KoC are denied their religious rights, procted by the Charter, whether PM Martin will call a snap election to protect their constitutional rights.
