I have been complaining about the potential for instituionalized daycare over the past few days claiming that such a policy is one that bribes voters with their own (and single-income families) money. Well according to NDP MP Judy Wasylycia-Leis tax cuts are bribery as well.
Media reports of a Liberal and Tory deal for a modest personal income tax cut in the Feb. 23 federal budget has an NDP MP crying foul.
"Bribery for voters doesn't make for good public policy and that's what this smacks of," Judy Wasylycia-Leis told CTV News on Saturday.
"This smacks of a secret side deal with the Conservatives to buy their votes to prevent an election."
I think giving people their own money back, or more to the point, taking less money from people is not a bribe. But political perspective does come into to play. I will let you decide for yourself which one, if not both, is (are) a bride.
