The Blue Maple Leaf was kind enough to send me the pdf Press Release from MP Jason Kenney regarding his comments. In this release it is explained that he was quoting from the judiciary and cases from 1993 and 2002 (follow the previous link).
I never questioned the factual nature of his comments, it is the political nature. When you have the Toronto Star, the Globe and Mail, the CBC and CTV fully behind something you really need to be careful how you present your arguments. In this case MP Kenney did not show the correct amount of prudence. Thus the vetting order from MP Harper. Bad news all around. Sometimes it is not enough to have the truth on your side.
