One thing, one thing leads to another

I am watching the replay of Question Period on CPAC paying special attention to Minister of Defence Graham's response to Frank KcKenna. Here is his argument, as I understand it. Yes, Canada agreed to transfer NORAD information to the United States so that they, and we, will be fully aware of what is in our air space. This does not mean we have joined Missile Defence. Just because we have done one thing does not mean we have made a decision on the other.

This, of course, is ridiculous. Are we to believe that when (if?) BMD is up and running and NORAD sees an incoming missile over either air space that the Americans won't go ahead and shoot it down? Do we really believe they will ask our position first? Will they really care if their anti-missile missile breaches Canadian airspace?

By transferring the NORAD information we already signed on.

What more President Bush wants is indeed an interesting question though.
