The Canadian variety is certainly not in the US and won't be anytime soon it appears. Here is MP Monte Solberg's take on how well the Agriculture Minister Andy Mitchell is dealing with it.
... [he] has thrown his hands up and has essentially declared that we can't do anything about the setbacks on the BSE file in the US. If he had said that he was considering launching a charm offensive I might have pointed out that he was low on ammunition. Or I might have said it will be more offensive than charming. But he has proposed nothing. Not a charm offensive, not a farm offensive, not an invasion, it's more of an evasion. Can't do a thing says he and he goes back to walking the halls at the Lib convention hoping that someone will recognize him.
Andy a little humility is a good thing, but come on man you are supposed to be a leader on this file. Get to Washington, meet with some congressman and lets see if we can save this thing. I'll be happy to carry your bags if you'll make the effort.
Of course they is no linkage between beef and missiles and all that...
