Speaking from experience

I wish I didn't know this one all too well. (Hat-tip NealeNews)

...More and more people are getting divorced more than once.

A parting of the way involving people who had been divorced at least once before accounted for an increasing proportion of divorces in 2003, says Statistics Canada.
"In 1973, only 5.4 per cent of divorces involved husbands who had previously been divorced. Some 30 years later, this proportion had tripled to 16.2 per cent of all divorces," the agency said Wednesday.

My parents are helping this one out, 2 already and another on the way...hence the funk I alluded to earlier.

...The agency said the proportion of marriages expected to end in divorce after 30 years moved up to 38.3 per cent in 2003, from 37.6 per cent in 2002.

Remember this stat the next time someone tells you that half of marriages end in divorce anyway. I actually blogged about this bogus stat several months ago.
