Although there is not as much buzz about Jean Charest making the jump back the Federal Conservatives as there used to be (and I admit the last time I heard it, it was from a Liberal) Chantal Hebert may have put an end to the talk today.
...These days, Charest's critics widely agree he is leading the worst government in modern Quebec history.
The vast majority of Quebecers — 70 per cent at last count — concur with the assessment that he is not living up to expectations. He is quickly becoming the most unloved premier in Canada.
Considering how poorly Premier McGuinty is doing that is saying alot.
Others have wondered about ADQ leader Mario Dumont jumping to the Conservatives. I wonder if Mr. Dumont's article in today's National Post on health care hurt or helped any potential Federal ambitions.
...I may be the first leader of a major political party in Canada to speak loudly and strongly in favour of a mixed public-private health system. I am convinced that we will be more and more numerous in the years to come.
We will see...we will see.
