Check out this evenings Politics program (at the 45min mark) for a fascinating discussion of what the Conservative strategy should be for the next election.
When an election is called it will be fascinating. The Liberal Party will be life and death to hold their 21 of 75 seats in Quebec. The have a battle on their hands against the NDP in the cities, especially Toronto. Even Newfoundland is in play. As the commenters mentioned, the Conservatives need to spend just enough time and political capital in Quebec to convince Ontarions they are acceptable. In such a situation the goal of flipping 20 seats in Ontario is reasonable. As Tom Axworthy put it the Liberals could get boxed in from all sides and by the end of the campaign have no punch left.
