Worlds Colliding II

Several weeks ago I
wrote a post about an article that a former Professor of mine (Prof. Nitsch of WLU) wrote in the KW Record. One of the most important aspects of this to me was the fact that while being taught by Prof. Nitsch I never detected any political bias. Well history has repeated itself.

When I went to the Chamber of Commerce speech by Opposition Leader Harper last week I met another lecturer I had at Laurier. This time it was Brent Barr who taught me Sales & Marketing Strategy. It seems that he has one the nomination to be the Conservative candidate in Guelph for the upcoming election. Again, I am impressed. You hear horror stories about University Professors letting their biases effect the classroom all the time. Not once can I remember this happening with Brent Barr. I remember he being a good teacher, using innovative techniques and evaluating with high expectations. This last part I especially appreciated. I did my goofing around in my undergrad days. Furthermore I was spending time away from my family to do the MBA. I was there to learn. Mr. Barr was there to teach. Perfect match.

That being I said, I am very pleased that Mr. Barr will be running for the Conservative nomination. He is very bright, was successful in business with high-level marketing positions at important consumer products companies and his own consulting company. He is also very active in the Guelph community through the Chamber of Commerce.

You can check out his site here. I wish him the best of luck as I am very confident he would serve Guelph very well as an MP. If you happen to be in Guelph why don't you lend him a hand by becoming a member and voting for him.
