What could have been

Remember how disappointed you were last election night when the results came in and the results were dramatically different than you expected. Well WLU Political Science Professor Barry Kay was interviewed on CTV Newsnet today and he revealed that the advance polling numbers reflect what we thought was going to happen.

Advanced Polling only (7-10 days before Election night, 1.2 million votes, 9% of electorate)

Conservative: 123
Liberal: 118
Bloc Quebecois: 50
NDP: 16

Mike Duffy speculates that it was the Liberal attacks that swung the vote. I tend to agree. The last ad (you know the one, tanks, smog, fading flags) was vicious, packed full of complete lies and politically brilliant.

Oh, what could have been.
