I was listening to 570 News this afternoon and a representative from Pollara was on the broadcast talking about their latest poll (not online yet). They decided to poll the constituents in MPs Parrish, Kilgour and Cadman's ridings to see how they would feel if they voted to bring down the government.
These constituents, like the rest of the country, were not in favour of a spring election. However, they would not change their voting preference at all if their MP voted in favour of a non-confidence motion. In short, they don't want an election but this don't enter into their decision making on who to vote for.
Such and such % wants to wait is a nonsense, or more correctly, irrelevant statistic.
The Pollara representative also reported that MP Cadman is a lock to win his seat. MP Parrish is a distant third and her only chance of getting re-elected is to be accepted back into the Liberal Party. Similarly the only way MP Kilgour gets re-elected is if joins (rejoins...sort of) the Conservative Party.
