How did they know what he was going to say?

From the CBC.

...Among the people Corbeil named as receiving cash are three people now employed by Liberal cabinet ministers.
During a break in his testimony on Monday, a bailiff arrived with a letter from the three, warning Corbeil of legal action against him if he named them at the inquiry.
Corbeil's lawyer, Guy Bertrand, characterized the letter as a threat.
"I think it's a kind of intimidation before his testimony," he said. "I think they should wait until after his testimony before saying, 'I'm going to sue you.'"

How you threaten to sue someone for something they haven't even said yet? How do you know what he is going to say? Since you cannot sue for inquiry testimony then what conclusion can you reach other than intimidation. If they knew what Corbeil was going to say based on media interviews why wouldn't you sue it for that?

Weird.
