The Liberals are holding an emergency Cabinet Meeting and the word is there will be a Budget Vote on Thursday May 19th. So we can chill on the Maple Leaf Revolution march. It is all in the hands of MP Chuck Cadman now.

From Stephen Harper's point of view it's excellent. It's a perfect storm for him. Our poll last night on CTV showed that Mr. Martin's negative numbers are very high. People think that he's dishonest, that he would lie for political reasons, that he's a ditherer. I mean these are very negative numbers. Mr. Harper does not have those numbers even though he is not perceived to be as warm and friendly a person. The other factor that helps the Conservatives, in wanting an election, is they are now 3-points ahead of the Liberals - traditionally the Liberals need to be about 7-points ahead of the Opposition before there is an election call. The Conversations tend to go up, usually, in an election campaign. So this is not a good situation for the Liberals...
