Bombshell?

Bourque Newswatch is reporting a "Bombshell Exclusive" in which former Ontario MPP Jim Flaherty is looking to unseat Stephen Harper as CPC Leader.

...Sources tell Bourque that failed retail heiress Nicky Eaton hosted a swish gathering at her country estate in Caledon for Flaherty's intimates to discuss a bid for Harper's job. Present and accounted for included Tony Clement, recently disclosed as a recipient of Liberal CabMin Belind Stronach's largess, the surpringly ambitious Mulroney Senator appointee Consiglio DiNino, and our old friend Tom Long, the Gaspesian Undertaker and defrocked Tory "strategist".

Anybody know how good Bourque's sources are? And wouldn't these sources be from the Liberal Party?

I am not sure if this would gain the CPC anything anyway. Jim Flaherty is well known as being from the right end of the right spectrum, i.e. less moderate than where OL Harper has taken the party. He is from Ontario so call it even. But dumping a leader less than a year before the election, for someone with his own share of baggage, that would be a mistake. We will see in a year from now, but at such time Stephen Harper could be the PM.
