Advice month

At first I thought it was advice week for Opposition Leader Stephen Harper but it appears it is actually advice month. Hardcore Chretienite wrote a nice piece in the National Post today outlining three points of advice he has for OL Harper, who Mr. Kinsella refers to as an honest, decent man.

  1. Shake off the image that Conservatives don't like Canada. "Start talking, and looking, like you like the place. The the voters will let you run it."
  2. Fire the nervous nellies in the Conservative Party, "strap on a set of gonads and fight like your lives depended on it. And quit the kvetching in public."
  3. Stop talking scandal so much. "... Stephen Harper should promote the fact that his caucus - which is younger, and more ethinically diverse that the governming party;s - has come up with a platform that is moderate, centrist and packed with great ideas about how to make a great country even greater.

Of the three points 2 & 3 are the easiest to implement. As for part 1, the Conservatives are yet again in the position if disproving a negative. But Mr. Kinsella provides the clue to how to do this in the end of point three. Talk often of your love of the country and how Conservative policies are a reflection of this love and also of a desire to make this country even greater.
