Playing with fire

Just a few thoughts on the latest with MP Germant Grewal - you play with fire you're going to get burned. Am I the only one who thinks that the Liberals are throwing anything and everything at this guy to see if it will stick. "Try to catch us on tape. We'll show you. Sick the RCMP on 'em."

Stephen Harper calls it a smear campaign. At this point I have to agree.

Update: According to what I can determine MP Germant Grewal did not break any laws here. More can be found on this topic at Brent Colbert's blog.

Here is how MP Grewal commented on the story in the Vancouver Sun:

...Grewal said he does not recall promising Dhahan a receipt, and accused Dhahan and Mann of being part of a Liberal "smear campaign."
In May, Grewal
released secretly recorded tapes that he said show Health Minister Ujjal Dosanjh, and Prime Minister Paul Martin's chief of staff were trying to entice him across the floor before a crucial budget vote.
He said he believes Dhahan and Mann have ties to Ujjal Dosanjh, and said that they have come forward as part of a larger attempt to discredit his reputation.
"Once they [the Liberals] are caught on tape, they are trying to smear my reputation," Grewal said. "This is completely a smear campaign."

How many investigations do we have now wherein MP Grewal has not broken the law. The tapes incident. Volpe sending the attack dogs regarding immigration. The Vancouver Airport incident. Campaign contributions. If you are going to go after the Liberals prepare for some major blowback.
