Some things never change

The Imprint, University of Waterloo student newspaper, once dominated by extreme leftists when I was at UW from 1991-1996. It is good to see it still is to this day.

Kate McMillan links to Mark Johnson's column in the Imprint about the 7/7 terrorist bombings.

...The deluded band of egocentric, paranoid terrorists that I think have made up the present and past governments of the United States of America has been launching petty, cowardly attacks on legitimate sovereign nations for decades, and 9/11 was something they had coming to them.

Cheering for terrorists (oops they would be freedom fighters to Mark) isn't enough, Mark explains why we in Canada are safe.

...We in Canada think of ourselves as relatively safe from terrorists, but were it not for the intelligent, thoughtful decision of an awesome former Prime Minister, Jean Chretien, to keep our troops out of the Iraq quagmire, it's more than likely that we'd now be in line for some sort of terrorist attack.

Kate quotes his website where he says, "I used to be a Communist, but I've since woken up." Woken up to the fact that communist regimes have slaughtered tens of millions of people? I doubt it. More that this is an extreme lefty who wants power. Kinda like another person he would consider "an awesome former Prime Minister"
