In a comment to my previous post you will find this link. In it you find the story of how the Bush Adminstration is changing their language from "war on terror" to "global struggle against extremism". The post is a litle gloating but well written and worth the read. I don't agree with the whole thing but good points are made.
I think the policy shift is not quite the "nuance" policy of Sen. Kerry, insofar it is just a function of police and intelligence gathering but is certainly removed from the "neo-con" position - this will be cause for celebration amongst the "progressives". Cheering for a civil war and American failure in Iraq doesn't seem very progressive to me though.
