It's the end of the world as we know it

and Chris Pronger feels fine.

WOW!

Update: Looks like Markus Naslund is staying put in Vancouver. More good news for the new NHL. We might finally have some parity. He is getting $18M over 3 years. At $6M/year this is the highest contract so far, but if Naslund is a max player is anybody?

Rumour has it that Jason Allison is a physical away from signing with the Leafs - 1 year at $4M (including bonuses, which don't count against the cap this year). Is Lindros far behind with an incentive laden contract?

Update II: And Sergei Gonchar feels fine as well. The Penguins are actually signing people...The Flames keep Iginla...it's a Brave New World.

Update III: Done, eh? The circle has been completed and Peter Forsberg is with the team that drafted him, the Flyers.

As I suspected this signing puts the Flyers over the cap. TSN is reporting that Flyers will trade Jeremy Roenick to the Los Angeles Kings to make room.

Paging John Ferguson...ya got anything in your bag of tricks? The Sens are contenders. The Flyers are contenders. The Pens are improving. So are the Blue Jackets. Both New York teams are making moves. I expect Neidermeyer to re-up with the Devils. Even the Habs are improving. That's eight teams. Eight teams make the playoffs. Hmmm, maybe it is time to sign a Kariya.
