According to the Globe and Mail,
The Liberal government will not present another budget before the next federal election, Finance Minister Ralph Goodale said yesterday.
Despite speculation that the Liberals might deliver a mini-budget in the fall, Mr. Goodale said he intends to stick to the traditional schedule.
"That is the track that we're on," he said. "The budget would normally occur in February or March."
I will take this as a positive. If the Liberals thought that they could win a majority by calling a fall election we would be guaranteed to have a fall budget. However the polls are still close enough that the best the Liberals could hope for is a weakened minority. Prepare yourself to place lawn signs in the frozen tundra.
