Reality Check

This comes via Canadian Press:

Half of Canadians paid absolutely no attention to the last federal budget, despite its long list of expensive spending promises on subjects ranging from child care to the military to seniors, federal government polling suggests.
That finding sends an ominous signal to Finance Minister Ralph Goodale as he works with Liberal caucus colleagues this week on priorities for his next budget, likely to form the beleaguered party's campaign platform for the coming election.

[Emphasis Added]

Ominous signal? I am willing to bet that the half of Canadians who paid absolutely no attention to the last budget are the half that can't be bothered to vote. In political terms they are irrelevant.

Beleaugured? I bet the CPC and the NDP would love to be a beleaugured 38% in the polls.
