From the Huh? file

Comes this press release from "Our Public Airways" calling on PM Martin to step in and end the CBC lockout.

Dear Friends and Supporters,
The CBC is in crisis and we've got to act NOW to help end the devastating lockout and get the 5,500 members of the Canadian Media Guild back to work!
Our Public Airwaves, an advocacy group for public broadcasting, has organized the Save OUR CBC! campaign to put pressure on the prime minister to take action. "This lockout won't end until we can make Paul Martin understand that we're holding him personally responsible" says Arthur Lewis, OPA's executive director.
OPA is asking for the support of CUPE members in sending letters to Martin. A prepared text to which you can add your own personal comments is available on the campaign website at:
www.OurCBC.ca.
In addition to supporting the campaign yourself, you can help by spreading the word to everyone you know. Please ask them to visit
www.OurCBC.ca and send a message to the prime minister. To get the government to act, we have to mobilize every single Canadian who cares about the CBC.

Crisis, crisis I tell you. Pull yourself away from phoning the President. I know there is a little situation going on somewhere down south but their are some Union members locked out so Mr. Prime Minster you must act NOW.

What a joke. I know that the CBC is not quite as arms length as it should be but to have the Government step in would be ludicrous. But I don't buy that the CBC is an essential service.
