O.K. I am back to Hurricane Katrina coverage. Hugh Hewitt is doing a Blogs across America review. If you read blogs by now you know about the campaign to raise money for relief. Great idea. Hopefully some momentum is built and some sizable corporate donations are made as well.
Update: Hugh Hewitt just finished interviewing N.Z.Bear of the Truth Laid Bear. Almost $125,000 raised so far.
I just donated some money to the American Catholic Charities.
...While local Catholic Charities agencies along the Gulf Coast anticipate that they will be asked to provide some type of emergency assistance in their communities, Catholic Charities’ niche in disaster relief is to provide long-term recovery work. Based on past disasters, possible long-term services that our agencies may provide include temporary and permanent housing, direct assistance beyond food and water to get people back into their homes, job placement counseling, and medical and prescription drug assistance.
...Please join us in our prayers for the victims and families during this difficult time. Thank you again.
Update II: It is now over $240,000. Not bad for a bunch of people in their pajamas.
