But if it is...
...A spring and summer of firings and resignations in Conservative Leader Stephen Harper's office peaked Tuesday with a fall clearout of staff.
While early reports put the number as high as 15, deputy party leader Peter MacKay said it was much smaller and cautioned against reading anything sinister into the changes.
"My understanding is that it was five or six," MacKay said on the eve of a national caucus meeting in the Nova Scotia capital.
It is not like the Conservative communications have been stellar. Not only that, it is that something that most people don't even care about.
Update: Here is MP Solberg's take:
...I'm told that the PMO has had around thirty staff changes in the last year. I note that long time loyalist Ruth Thorkelson quietly left the PMO as Deputy Chief of Staff for the office that makes appointments. I note too that this happened after the Michaelle Jean uproar. Clearly these two things are unconnected and no stories should be written connecting the two.
On the other hand the Conservatives just announced 5 or 6 changes in their staff, which of course proves that the wheels have fallen off that gas guzzling Conservative SUV. This is a major development that should concern every Canadian.
