New NHL rules

I just watched the video over at NHL.com regarding the rule changes. Let's just say that if they enforce these rules defense as we know it is over. It will be fire wagon hockey and we could return to classic '80's scores of 7-5.

I am thinking that the Philadelphia Flyers may have wasted a lot of money of big and slow defenceman and the St. Louis won't be too worried about losing Chris Pronger. Furthermore Bryan McCabe is really going to struggle in the new NHL and Bryan Marchement has no chance of making the Leafs. The coveted defensemen will be players who can skate and move the puck so Anaheim will learn to love Scott Neidermeyer.

On a side note, will shoot-out goals count towards the scoring race or are they in a separate category?
