It's all been said

...So far, Martin has exhibited a strong natural instinct to defend the indefensible, convincing many in the process that, after 12 continuous years in power, the Liberals cannot help but equate the interests of Canada with their own.
On that score, the election-driven announcements of the past few weeks — in particular, but not exclusively, the plan to allow future federal governments to tap the budget surplus to sprinkle money regularly on voters — do little to send the message that today's Liberals are all that different from yesterday's.

That's really the question. Once the Gomery report comes out in a couple of weeks how can the Liberals spin that it wasn't this group of Liberals but another group? And how can they convince the elecorate that this group of Liberals is fit to clean-up the mess? Considering that they are one and the same, he could be tough.

Not that it can't be done though.
