Most recent poll

The Globe and Mail is reporting on a Strategic Counsel poll that is not good news for the Conservatives:

Liberals: 38%
Conservatives: 25%
NDP: 15%
Bloc Quebecois: 14% (although that is not stated in the article)

It appears that this was somewhat of a push poll.

...Asked whether the NDP should keep supporting the Liberal government, 56 per cent of respondents said yes because it is important for Parliament to pass new laws and legislate. By the same token, 37 per cent said it should not because they feel it is time for an election.
On a related question, only 28 per cent said they had a positive opinion of the NDP-Liberal arrangement, while 29 per cent said they felt negatively toward the idea.
Another 42 per cent had no opinion.
The poll comes as Mr. Layton himself appears to have toughened his stand, laying out a series of demands in return for his support.
But Mr. Gregg noted that the Liberals have already begun talking positively about some of the things Mr. Layton wants, which appears designed to capture soft NDP support.

Also, does anybody believe that the NDP is at 12% in Ontario? I typically put a lot of faith in Strategic Counsel, and this poll seems to put an end to the recent upward trend by the Conservatives, but the Ontario numbers and the BQ at 57% just don't pass the smell test.

Furthermore, I can't get the Conservatives down to 25% Nationally (with 30% in Ontario) without massive losses in the West. Yes they may be down in British Columbia, but less than 25% - get real. Also are the significantly down in the Prairies? I doubt it. Strange poll indeed. Nonetheless, I fed them into my spreadsheet.

Liberals: 146
Conservatives: 78
Bloc Quebecois: 67
New Democrats: 15
