But only right-wingers want tax-cuts

Here is the latest from CTV.

...Canadians can expect income tax cuts to be on the election agenda, with reports Prime Minister Paul Martin's Liberals plan to introduce and run on a broad-based tax cut plan.
Citing an unnamed government official, The Canadian Press reports that the Liberals are now deciding how best to tell Canadians about the plan.
"There are several different tax brackets covered by this. It's broad-based,'' one government official told CP.

These are actually distraction from Gomery tax-cuts because they will only be announced this fall if the government fears Canadians reaction to the first Gomery Report. Otherwise they won't be announced until the spring.

I can hear the Spirit of the West singing in the background.

why did everything, every little thing every little thing with you and me have to be so political?

And Robert's point is proven. The Liberals don't want tax cuts. They don't think they are necessary to improve the standard of living of Canadians and to boost productivity. They are a tool to get elected. How much of the tool they require will depend on the reaction to the Gomery Report.

...Tax cuts remain on the table for the upcoming federal economic update, but there are conflicting signals from within the Finance Ministry on how generous they will be.
While a spokesman for Finance Minister Ralph Goodale says an expensive across-the-board cut is out of the question, sources say they're being considered.
Reports have suggested Goodale will trot out large tax cuts if his Liberal government takes a beating with the release of Justice John Gomery's first Adscam report, expected Nov. 1.
Goodale has been promising to put more money in the pockets of Canadians during a recent cross-country speaking tour, insisting that he will provide tax relief when Canada can afford it.

So the question is, if they are not really committed to a tax cut, what are the odds that they would yank a tax cut off the table if they got re-elected?
