The NDP will be introducing a Private Members Bill in November to attempt to stop a further increase in the "privatization of health care". Since this is only three weeks away I would assume their draft is written.
Further, Mr. Layton had a meeting with the Prime Minister to try to get the Liberals to agree to stop further privatization to gain continued NDP support. Wouldn't it make sense to bring the Private Members Bill and get the Liberals to agree to accept that?
...The only issue that both sides seem to agree on at the conclusion of the meeting was that more talks should be arranged to discuss the issue further - this time between Health Minister Ujjal Dosanjh and NDP health critic Jean Crowder. No date has been set for that meeting.
Crowder told CanWest that Layton did not actually take a written proposal into the meeting with the prime minister. Rather, he asked Martin to come up with new rules to end health-care privatization.
He asked PM Martin to come up with this rules? It looks like the NDP are playing the posturing game as well.
