And the fog of polls continue

There are a couple of new polls to comment on. First there is the CanWest/Ipsos-Reid poll with (last poll from firm in question):

Liberals: 33% (+2%)
Conservatives: 31% (even)
New Democrats: 17% (-1%)
Bloc Quebecois: 14%
Greens: 5%

So the numbers have changed very little from their last poll and then there is the TorStar/Ekos poll: (h/t NealeNews)

Liberals: 34% (-5%)
Conservatives: 27% (-2%)
New Democrats: 18% (+1%)
Bloc Quebecois: 14% (+3%)

I think this just confirmed how ridiculour EKOS' earlier poll was. I also love this from their latest poll.

...EKOS' Adams said that the Conservatives' domination of the headlines during the first week of the campaign has not translated into a boost in support.
Nightly polling found a gradual decline in Tory support as the week went on, with support dropping from about 34 per cent on Tuesday to 24 per cent on Thursday.
"There has been a pattern over a couple of years that when people take a careful look at the Tories and Stephen Harper, they lose their appetite for them," said Adams. "I think there's some indication here that that's what happened this week."

That's right - Tory support dropped to 24% on Thursday night. The Toronto Star can only wish.
