Some facts

Check out this pdf document from Kids First Canada to help you get past some Liberal spin. Here are some highlights:

  • less than 22% of children are in the "universal system"
  • the 70% of women in the workplace statistic includes any women who makes any amount of money, full-time, part-time, employment insurance, regardless of how little the amount is
  • there are no studies showing poor quality child care done by thoes who are not regulated by government
  • there isn't "overwhelming research" that shows that daycare or preschool improves children's outcomes - but outcomes improve based on time spent with parents
  • public support for preferentially funding daycare is low - those advocating for it are paid for by the government

There is a lot more there. Check it out.
