- less than 22% of children are in the "universal system"
- the 70% of women in the workplace statistic includes any women who makes any amount of money, full-time, part-time, employment insurance, regardless of how little the amount is
- there are no studies showing poor quality child care done by thoes who are not regulated by government
- there isn't "overwhelming research" that shows that daycare or preschool improves children's outcomes - but outcomes improve based on time spent with parents
- public support for preferentially funding daycare is low - those advocating for it are paid for by the government
