I am officially baffled. How is it that the Liberals are increasing their lead in the CPAC-SES nightly poll?
Liberals: 40%
Conservatives: 28%
New Democrats: 17%
Bloc Quebecois: 11%
Greens: 4%
Update: Reading this article from Jane Taber leads me to believe that SES is just flat out wrong.
..."He's their biggest vulnerability and they're jamming him down people's throats every day," a senior strategist says. "It's neck and neck [between the Tories and the Liberals] and woe be he who makes a mistake."
If a senior Liberal strategist says it is neck and neck they must have internals to back that up. Besides, Strategic Counsel and Ipsos-Reid have things much tighter.
Update II: Welcome CalgaryGrit readers. Be gentle ;). Let me add some thoughts with regards to the Decima poll release. I think it confirms that SES is bogus. Strategic Counsel has the Liberals hovering around 34-35. Ipsos-Reid has the Liberals in and around 33. Decima (which is less reliable in my opinion) has the Liberals at 34% as well. In my mind the Liberals can be beat if the continue to be around 34%. I think the Conservative support is solid around 30%. A 4-5 point gap can be overcome. If the gap gets to the 2-3 point range it is a virtual tie.
