Is it really so hard to believe?

Here is the narrative from the Sponsorship Scandal. You had a wing of a political party that was broke - in a region that is vital to your electoral success. To correct this situation some members of said party used access to a political program to enrich their well connected friends, who in turn gave a cut back to the political party to help them finance election campaigns.

Are we to believe that it could never happen again?

I am not saying it did. But shouldn't there be an investigation to show that us that it didn't? Because the "trust me" card is not worth the paper it is printed on.

The proof is the proof. When you have the proof it is proven. And I want some proof.
