Nobody saw this coming, eh?
Vancouver's Olympic Organizing Committee will reveal a revised budget today -- amid warnings that construction costs for the 2010 games are much higher than previously forecast....He said organizers might have to ask federal and provincial government officials for more money.
"We've had a discussion with both governments about our budget situation,'' Furlong said in January. "We told both of them that we think we're going to need a little bit of help."

So, it is 2006…110 mil…2007 200, 2008, 300, 2009, 500 million. Count down.
Amusingly, virtually the entire PR operation of the Olympics is staffed up with Liberal and Socred operatives all of whom are delightful folks. It is a sort of makework project for ex-Liberal PMO folks and Tory press secretaries.
Should be great fun…especially as there seems to be a dearth of snow this year and in the foreseeable future.
