It is like the site is radioactive or something

Hide the women and children, the Conservatives are meeting

at the infamous site on Meech Lake where Brian Mulroney tried and failed to negotiate a constitutional accord with the provinces

How dare he. This is the final straw. How can I support a party that meets at Meech Lake!

(kidding)

From what I understand Meech Lake is a pretty nice place not that far from the Capital.

Update: Check out the video on CTV as Minister's sedans "hurry" past reporters. That is some damn fine reporting. These poor reporters and camera operators have to stand out in the cold to film cars making a right hand turn. Brilliant! If only we could capture the essence of that in the Bloggers Hotstove - that is pure gold!

Don:

15 minutes from downtown.

And there are some public beaches where you can swim in clean water! (as opposed to Britannia beach and some others in the city)

Personally, I’m disappointed Meech didn’t pass. If you actually read it, several items that are on the political scene now wouldn’t even be issues. It was a brilliant document, and so was Charlottetown for that matter. Trudeau screwed it all up. Didn’t want Brian to succeed where he failed.

It might be a touch cold for swimming.

jim:

I regret having been opposed to Meech.

I could have lived with ‘Meech’.

Charlottetown was a sewer and needed to be killed. E.g. The guarantee of 25% in the House traded in Quebec senators for MPs (who would overrule the senators anyways in double majority votes)

Al Oliver, a former outfielder for the Montreal Expos, gave me a signed baseball which said “Be Yourself”.

In my opinion, he[Harper] could have been more original.

That’s all.

Yeah, and The Fifth Estate had a nice piece on Mulroney and Carl Heinz Schreiber tonight. Wonder how long it will take the crazoids to come out of the bushes to link Harper to it?
