But a quick look at the standings show the Leafs aren't out of the playoff race. 6-points back of the Tampa Bay Lighting with a game in hand. That is doable.
The bigger problem is that they have to pass the NY Islanders and Atlanta Trashers as well. Of the three teams mentioned I worry most about the Trashers.

They’ll make it. Then they’ll wish they hadn’t.

Nice!
Yeah, they’ll get thumped by either Ottawa or Carolina (damn they have a good club)

The Leafs are done for this year. Get over it. Habs are the team to watch.
Kovalev and Koivu look fantastic and young Higgins is turning his game up a notch. If Ryder shows up one of these days they should hold on to their playoff spot.
I wanted Gainey to trade Ribeiro to the Leafs to provide some grit to the leaf’s front lines. LOL.

Greg, you’re the first Leafs fan I’ve ever heard express the fear that the Senators would knock them out of the playoffs.
You know what I’m looking forward to? Toronto being 6 points out of a playoff spot on April 15th, and Ottawa officially making it impossible by beating them. In overtime! HAHA!
When fans start talking about their team having a statistical chance, it makes me want to go out and buy a lottery ticket during a thunderstorm, just to jump on that odds-bandwagon.

It reminds me of the eighties in the Norris division when, year after year, the Laffs would watch the Blues, North Stars, Black Hawks, and Red Wings play each other in the playoffs.
