Just finished listening to the segment with James Travers and Mike Duffy on Adler Online. Mike Duffy reported that the Liberals have been doing heavy polling on Bob Rae (I would assume in 905) and they are seeing higher than expected negatives.
Which begs the question - expected by whom? How can you be surprised that Bob Rae does not poll well?

They were probably expecting lower negative polling because a) it’s been a while since Bob Rae was back in the spotlight; b) they figured his numbers couldn’t be worse than, say, Mike Harris; and c) Rae, despite his political affiliations, is still part of the Ontario establishment. Of course, the biggest mis-assumption was that a member of the Ontario establishment could be perceived as a national leader.

Bottom line is voters in Ontario well remember Rae Days and they will take this to the ballot box if Rae is elected leader of the Liberals. Back to the D team now. I prefer Stronach. Can you see it..her and Harper in a debate? She hasn’t got a fresh thought in her head. Go Stephen.

All he has are negatives - and the dumb-dumb dufus look that will be thankfully received by all the political cartoonists of the land.
Bring on the Rae Days

How can he be getting negative responses? Paul and the Martinites said he’s a good guy now. Shouldn’t that be enough to convince even the most skeptical?

What is funny is that some Liberals are actually enthusiastic about Rae. I’ve dared every Liberal I know to put Rae in as leader. If they want to kiss Ontario goodbye, that is exactly what they should do.
Personally, I think the only reason that he is running is so that he can throw the left wing element support during the convention towards Ingnatieff hoping to get the ball rolling then.

I love that his #1 priority is post-secondary education — a provincial responsibility. After he has already been head of the biggest honkin’ province in the country!
Go back and read ss. 91-92 of the Constitution, Bob. Sheesh.

we need one full day of the bloggers to fully stand up for choice in childcare,,, if anyone is interested pop over and email me.
If I get enough interest we can pick a day before the bill goes through and try to help. The news watches us all the time so why not strike for childcare?
I’m thinking Friday St. Patricks day… anyone in?

Over on the Calgary Grit blog, they are talking about Bob Rae being Laytons worst nightmare.
What I don’t get is why the sudden surge to win leftist voters. The reason the Libs didnt win the election wasn’t cause they weren’t “left” enough.. it was because they had no vision. Geez does ANYONE pay attention to elections or do people just jump to the first conclusion possible?

I am so shocked - NOT!
He would be death to Ontario and if the libs don’t figure that out then they will be sitting in opposition for a loooong time.
Can you imagine Bay Street, all those middle class ridings and other corporate and banking types going for him? Said it before, will say it again: he is poison to the electorate here, Rae Days live on forever. Besides, do former Premiers ever get elected as PM?
