The latest edition of Meet the Suppressed: The Bloggers Hotstove is up at STIMedia. This week the panel included Greg Bester, Jason Cherniak, Stephen Taylor and myself. That's what the blogosphere is all about, isn't it? Many voices striving to be heard. So to me the more voices the better.
This week we talked about the announcement of the Liberal Convention date, early favourites to win the prize and the media reaction to the Prime Ministers Afghanistan trip.
Update: OK, I am totally baffled. For some reason the file resizes itself to 12:29 when it is actually 31:11. I have no idea what is causing this. Does anybody know what causes this?
Update II: I have uploaded an unedited file until I figure out what is going on. Ignore the ending.

This has actually happened to me before with you guys’ podcasts. The file always plays at the full length even though it lies about the size. I thought it was a Mac thing.

Anybody else catch Jason Cherniak’s letter to the Editor in the Toronto Sun this Sunday? Sounds like he wanted to throw off some of the weaker points once again.

I’m surprised no one burst into laughter when Jason said the Liberals might have swept Alberta had it not been for the Reform Party!
Seriously Greg, you should have been just a little bit harsher in your comeback to that!

They might have taken a few more seats… but what’s more likely is that a wing of the PCs would have survived by, in effect, running against their own party in the last few days. (Much in the same way that some Liberal MPs saved their own skins in this last election.)

May I suggest you invite one of the more level-headed Green Bloggers along to the next Bloggers Hotstove? It would be nice if more perspectives could be included.
Since you’re based in TO, I’d recommend Section 15 or Mark Viitala.
Keep up the good work… we need more debate, and your programme definitely helps. One of the primary drawbacks of the blogosphere is people preaching to the converted. There isn’t nearly enough of a contention of thoughts between rival viewpoints.

James Bow has been (and I assume could be again) a supporter of the Green Party. But your point is valid.
What do people think - stick with a regular panel or mix it up as much as possible?

Well, since you asked …
I just adore the dynamic between the four original panelists so much that it would be a shame to lose that completely. I’d prefer to see the four originals stick around as much as possible, with fill-in guests coming in whenever it’s not.
One suggestion: make one of the guests at some point a woman! (Although not me! :-)
