Let's get it on

I'm officially ready. I bought a Blue Jay ballcap today. The black one. It still drives me nuts that the Blue Jays cap is black - the logo is really good but please make the uniforms blue again.

Do I think Ken Rosenthal is right and the Blue Jays will win the World Series (h/t The Hack)? Nah. I would be satisfied with the ever cliche meaningful games in September. Which I think is a safe bet.

This is more in line with what Paul Tuns has been saying.

...If young Toronto hitters like Hill, Russ Adams and Alexis Rios make strides, if Glaus and Halladay dodge the DL, and the middle-relief corps surprises, the Jays will content. Those, however, are a lot of ifs.

Even Americans are saying that they expect a lot from the Jays this year. I, personally, will continue to wear my old school baby-blue cap.

Have the Jays restored the maple leaf on its jersey/cap? I was completely turned off when the Rogers crew decided it had to go — that somehow it branded them as ‘unmarketable’ down south. Who the hell cares? So many people buy the cap with Chief Wahoo on it, no one cares that its an offensive stereotype (at least no one that buys it)… The red leaf is part of the team and its a fact that its in canada. I was one of the regulars who’d make the trek annually when Toronto came to Seattle, but now I don’t. I was more of an Expos/Jarry Park person. But I do think they could surprise a lot of people — although I wasn’t impressed with JP’s lack of a plan when he inked so many big $ players, then had to give away a guy like Koskie because suddenly 3rd base is too full.
